HookPattern complies with applicable privacy law, including the Personal Information Protection Act of the Republic of Korea, and publishes this policy to explain how personal information is handled.
1. Information we collect
- Account and authentication: email address, encrypted password, and Google account identifiers when Google sign-in is used.
- Guest trial: a random anonymous account identifier, trial usage, submitted video links, and extracted transcripts.
- Paid subscription: payment identifiers and subscription status. We do not store full card details; the payment provider processes them.
- Service content: collections, transcripts, tags, temporarily uploaded video files, and service usage records.
- Automatically collected data: access logs, session cookies, page and product events, campaign parameters, and advertising click identifiers such as gclid, dclid, and fbclid.
2. Why we use information
- To identify and authenticate users and maintain sessions.
- To organize, analyze, and generate authorized transcripts and personalize the Service.
- To manage billing, renewal, and cancellation for HookPattern Pro.
- To respond to support requests, prevent abuse, maintain reliability, measure campaign performance, and improve product flows.
3. Retention
We delete personal information when its purpose has been fulfilled, except where applicable law requires retention. Account content is deleted when the user deletes the account. Anonymous trial accounts and transcripts are deleted after 7 days unless converted to a member account. Uploaded source videos are private and temporary, and are deleted after processing succeeds or finally fails; orphaned files are removed by periodic checks.
- Contract, withdrawal, payment, and supply records: 5 years where required by Korean e-commerce law.
- Consumer complaints and disputes: 3 years where required by law.
- Service use and campaign attribution: up to 180 days or until account deletion.
- Anonymous trial account, transcript, and usage data: 7 days.
- Uploaded source video: until processing completes or finally fails.
4. Sharing and service providers
We do not ordinarily sell or disclose personal information. Minimum payment information is shared with the payment provider to process a paid subscription, and information may be disclosed when required by law or a valid government request.
5. Processing and international transfers
- Supabase, Inc. — authentication, database, storage, and infrastructure.
- Polar Software Inc. — subscription payment processing and Merchant of Record services.
- Google LLC — OAuth sign-in, Google Analytics, and Google Ads measurement.
- Amplitude, Inc. — post-signup product analytics when measurement cookies are allowed.
- Meta Platforms, Inc. — advertising measurement when advertising cookies are allowed.
These providers may process data outside Korea when the relevant service is used. Transfers occur over the network for the stated service purpose.
6. Your rights
- You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or withdrawal of consent.
- You can change your password and delete your account from the Account page. Account deletion immediately removes member information and submitted content.
- For other requests, contact contact@sagelab.org.
7. Deletion and security
Electronic records are permanently deleted using methods designed to prevent recovery. We use encrypted transport, encrypted authentication data, access controls, database row-level security, private storage, and short-lived signed URLs for uploaded videos.
8. Cookies and measurement
Essential first-party cookies maintain sessions and reconnect anonymous trial data in the same browser. Attribution cookies may be retained for up to 180 days. Google tags use Consent Mode; when measurement cookies are refused, limited cookieless signals may still be sent for aggregated measurement and modeling. Amplitude is opted out and Meta tags are not loaded when the applicable consent is denied. We do not send email addresses, submitted links, channel names, transcript titles, or transcript text to Amplitude.
